From St. Louis to the Forefront of the Midwest Sound
Angela "Big Angie" Richardson's love of music started long before the industry ever knew her name. Raised in St. Louis with a passion to succeed and the tenacity of "a category 5 hurricane," she studied the women who built the industry before her — Sylvia Rhone, Julie Greenwald, Tina Davis — and set out to earn her own seat at that table.
In 2002, she founded Tha Nod Factor Records & Films, turning a love of music into a full-scale label. Her first major deal placed St. Louis artist Huey (Lawrence Franks Jr.) with Jive Records — and as co-writer on "Pop, Lock & Drop It," Angie helped create a record that sold over seven million ringtones and became a defining anthem of its era.
She didn't stop at one hit. Angie went on to manage a run of songs in radio rotation simultaneously — including K'stylis' "Booty Me Down" — earning her the 2015 SCM Power Player of the Year award. Today she's bringing Tha Nod Factor to the forefront of the Midwest again, developing pop sensation Eddie Tapia, female rapper/singer K$AV, and TNF Lando.
Beyond the boardroom and the studio, Angie's mission has grown into something bigger than music. She's committed to helping people discover their God-given purpose while building careers rooted in integrity, excellence, and faith — because she believes music, like life, should inspire, heal, encourage, and create opportunity, not simply entertain.
